This month we have loved seeing the studio continue to come alive with vibrant music making, creative development, and dedication to learning an instrument! This past month we continued our School Expression Sessions with Cawdor Public, Appin Public, and Douglas Park, with our compilation album of songs and music tracks from each school coming together very nicely! We recently became the new owners of five iMacs and a set of professional staging equipment, donated to us by the Power House Museum. This will be great for providing more music production opportunities in the studio and staging for pop-up public performances. We are again working with Wollondilly Shire Council in their Cafe Connect program, providing music-making sessions to people over 55, and also generating some great new partnerships with schools and retirement villages, including Oxley College and Harbison Aged Care, for music-making sessions with their residents. Our Mobile Creative Arts Studio continues to hit the road, providing pop-up sessions at Warragamba, Wilton, and now Robertson and Bowral. See you in the studio! Pat

Cafe Connect Music Making Session This month we worked with Wollondilly Shire Council on their Cafe Connect Program, where each month they provide Wollondillians over 55 with a social experience. This month it was River Road’s turn! As a Registered Music Therapist, Pat led participants through music-making methods that help our health and well-being within a fun, supportive, and creative environment! Great music, great vibe, amazing people! |

Stage Equipment and Computers We recently became the new owners of 5 iMacs and a set of Professional Staging equipment, donated to us by the Power House Museum! The staging equipment will provide students and all River Roadies, a great platform for future sessions and public live performances. Watch this space for an upcoming Youth Bands event for the end of Term mini concert. |

Oxley College and Harbison Aged Care This month we loved providing the background music to the ‘Making with Memories’ session, delivered in partnership with Oxley College to Harbison residents As a Registered Music Therapist, Pat focused on songs and music making that Harbison residents would know and love, but it was also great to support Oxley students, and be part of this fluid and interactive music and art making experience! |

Mobile Expression Sessions We continue to love our music making Expression Sessions, delivered in partnership with South 32 to public schools in the Wollondilly including Appin Public, Cawdor Public, and Douglas Park Public School. These sessions allow us to provide free music education including learning various instruments, but also songwriting and music production activities towards a compilation album with music from all schools. |

Creative Youth Drop In Sessions - shout out to the bands! While these sessions happen every Tuesday night at 7 pm, it’s worth taking a moment to congratulate all the young people who regularly attend. They have formed bands through these sessions and continue to support each other and each band in improving their sets and being the best musicians they can be! Look out for when our Youth Bands are performing next - date TBC but towards the end of the term. |

Coding and Robotics Program Back for Term 2 Designed to have fun while exploring the exciting world of creative coding and robotics. This 8 week program will get them thinking with problem solving, designing, building and programming.
Through the program, students will explore Scratch, Java, Python coding languages, circuitry and ardiuno boards, and robotics including designing and building robots. Sign Up Here: https://riverroad.edu.au/codingandrobotics |

Reminder we have Pat as our own Registered Music Therapist! To attain this distinction, Pat successfully completed a Master of Music Therapy and fulfilled the registration requirements with the Australian Music Therapy Association. Music therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses music and musical elements to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. Music therapists are trained professionals who use their musical expertise to help people achieve specific therapeutic goals and enhance their overall well-being. Wollondilly Mens Music Cave Reminder our Mens Music Cave meets the last Sunday of the Month. The mens music cave meet the last Sunday of each month and welcome all male in the Wollondilly to join us in making some music, having a chat, and enjoying som breakfast. It was great to see new members join the caver last Sunday! This is a free activity funded by the Wollondilly Shire Council Community Grants program! |

Udio Account Student Details Over the last term we implemented a new student management platform Udio, which aims to streamline our operations, but also provide students and parents greater visibility and management of their lessons. For registered students, please ensure your student details are up to date including contact details, and student details.
