This month has been bustling with creativity as both Tahmoor Studios and the newly established Moss Vale Arts Factory have evolved into thriving hubs for music and art. It’s great to see artists, musicians, and community members coming together to collaborate, learn, and create. This month we had the Illuminate Festival, and the Remedy Sessions launch, providing an intimate music experiences that connected artists and audiences in powerful ways. Additionally, school visits and community groups continued to fill our studios with their passion for music and art, making each day in the studio a dynamic and enriching experience. Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce our New Beginnings Festival at the Moss Vale Arts Factory on October 11th. This exciting event will mark the launch of our much-anticipated ceramics program, featuring a special collaboration with renowned Raku ceramicist Yuhana Nashmi. The festival will celebrate the intersection of music, art, and ceramics, offering an immersive experience for all who attend. See you in the studio! Pat

Remedy Sessions Successfully Launched!! An absolutely fantastic start to our Remedy Sessions at our Moss Vale Arts Factory!! Our first session included the very awesome singer songwriter Shardae Ewart, supported by another inspiring songwriter and musician Aeroforms aka Claire Weiland If that wasn’t enough we had the eclectic and innovative visual artist Nat Will (Moe Doeslife) creating an artwork live in the studio! Biggest thanks to Shardae for organising, curating and shaping this awesome event into a very cool creative community program. Look out for the next Remedy session next month!! |

Youth Bands Perform at Illuminate 2024 It was fantastic to see our incredibly talented youth bands take the stage last night at the Wollondilly Shire Council Illuminate Festival.
Their performances were truly amazing, showcasing not only their musical abilities but also the hard work and dedication they've put into their craft. It’s always inspiring to witness their passion for music shine through, and last night was a perfect example of their growth and commitment. Well done to all involved! |

Illuminate 2024!! We once again took to the streets to make music with the community, this time showcasing the Creative Dilly Bus. In addition, River Road teachers were on hand to support and encourage passersby to pick up an instrument and join in the fun! |

River Fest 2024!! Save The Date River Fest is back for 2024, we where are booked into the brand new Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre, providing a world class performing space for all things River Road to present, exhibit and perform. This year we will be starting a little later in the afternoon going on into the evening with our community groups and youth bands! SSpring Expression Sessions and New Beginnings Festival 11th October The Spring Expression sessions offer a series of mobile music and art workshops designed to engage participants in creative activities across different locations. These workshops culminate in the "New Beginnings" creative event happening on the 11th October, where music, urban art, and ceramics are brought together into one dynamic session. The project fosters artistic collaboration and self-expression, providing a platform for participants to explore and showcase their talents in a diverse and inclusive environment. Expression Sessions with Exeter Public! We had an awesome time making music with the very cool kids from Exeter Public School! For the past few weeks we have set up an array of instruments within rock band environment to support music making, creativity and self expression. Big thanks to Exeter Public staff and Principal Andrew Barnes for supporting us with this initiative! |

Hill Top Glow Festival It was great to be part of this year's Hill Top Glow Festival, hosted by the Hill Top Community Association! It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with the local community and bring music and art to such a vibrant event. |

Southern Highlands Arts Trail 2024 This year River Road’s Moss Vale Arts Factory is on the Southern Highlands Arts Trail! This year we will be supporting local artist and musicians exhibit their work, including: Happening 9th/10th Nov, and 16th/17th Nov. Workshops at Robertson CTC This school holidays we ventured our to Robertson to again provide interactive music making workshops, focusing on Songwriting and Music Production! In these sessions we are exploring songwriting including song structure, instrumentation, tone, and lyrics towards recording and producing their own original song. |

Introducing our Bursary Fund! The Bursary Fund is designed to provide financial assistance to students and families to help cover tuition, materials, or other education related expenses. The River Road Bursary Fund is supported through: A portion of ticket sales from our Remedy Sessions and other ticketed events Donations from local businesses, charitable organisations, and families Government grants
The bursary can be applied as a reduction in tuition fees or used to cover specific costs such as instruments, art supplies, or participation in special programs. By offering this support, the Bursary Fund ensures that all people have access to high-quality music and arts education, fostering inclusivity and nurturing the next generation of artists and musicians. Art Therapist Scribbles Art Therapy now at Moss Vale Arts Factory Kate Friesenecker has joined us at the Moss Vale Arts Factory, where she is leading a range of art programs and art therapy. Kate recognises art as a powerful tool for improving mental health, helping to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Through art therapy, Kate taps into the natural creativity within each of us to foster self-expression, emotional healing, personal growth, and transformation. Coding and Robotics at Tahmoor Do you have a budding computer scientist in your home? Do they play Minecraft or Roblox and dream of designing and creating their own computer game one day? 8 Week Program, Saturday mornings 10:30am-11:30am Coding Club currently at our Tahmoor Studio! Reminder we have Pat as our own Registered Music Therapist! To attain this distinction, Pat successfully completed a Master of Music Therapy and fulfilled the registration requirements with the Australian Music Therapy Association. Music therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses music and musical elements to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. Music therapists are trained professionals who use their musical expertise to help people achieve specific therapeutic goals and enhance their overall well-being.
