This month has been incredibly creative, with music and art thriving in both our Tahmoor Studios and our new Moss Vale Arts Factory! The energy and enthusiasm in these spaces have been truly inspiring, as artists and musicians come together to explore and express their creativity. Illuminate is fast approaching, and we’re excited to once again showcase music and art produced in our studios! - including our youth bands who have been hard at work, continuing to create amazing music during our Creative Youth Group sessions. In addition, we’re thrilled to introduce our Moss Vale Remedy Sessions this month, which will activate the Moss Vale space with original music and art, adding another vibrant layer to our creative community. We’re also proud to announce that our new Bursary Fund, designed to support students and families, is now up and running! This initiative will provide valuable assistance to those in need, helping to nurture the next generation of artists and musicians. Furthermore, we’re honoured to be part of this year’s Southern Highlands Arts Trail, where we’ll be supporting local artists, students, and musicians in showcasing their creative work to the broader community. Creative Youth Drop In Sessions Our Creative Youth Drop In sessions are continuing to provide a great space for youth every Tuesday at 7pm. At these session we have our music and art teachers on hand to support creative development as well as a fun and relaxed space to be themselves and connect with other youth. |

Wear it Purple event at Moss Vale Arts Factory In partnership with St Vinnies and the Southern Highlands Creative Space, the factory hosted a Wear it Purple Event, opening the factory to the public to make music, creative art, and be themselves in a safe and inclusive environment. Big thanks to Shardae and Tania from St Vinnies for making this a great event! |

Illuminate 2024!! River Road is back for Illuminate 2024, including live bands at the Botanical Gardens stage, on the street with our Mobile Creative Arts studio, plus some other pop up music activities along the street of Picton. Watch our socials for where we’ll be! |

River Fest 2024!! Save The Date River Fest is back for 2024, we where are booked into the brand new Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre, providing a world class performing space for all things River Road to present, exhibit and perform. This year we will be starting a little later in the afternoon going on into the evening with our community groups and youth bands! Watch this space for more info and times as we plan for our big end of year event! |

Southern Highlands Arts Trail 2024 This year River Road’s Moss Vale Arts Factory is on the Southern Highlands Arts Trail! This year we will be supporting local artist and musicians exhibit their work, including: Happening 9th/10th Nov, and 16th/17th Nov. Remedy Sessions The remedy sessions are an awesome up close way to experience live music and original songwriting Limited to 40 guests, these intimate sessions offer a unique opportunity to connect with the featured artist of the month. Attendees will hear the stories behind the songs, delve into the creative process, and enjoy a live performance in an up-close setting, making for an unforgettable musical experience. The next session is 27th September, 6pm with singer/songwriter Shartdae Ewart and live artwork created by Nat Will (Moe Does Life) Ticket price is $30 with all cost going to artist and Bursary Fund (see more info below) Info and tickets here: https://riverroad.edu.au/remedysessions |

Introducing our Bursary Fund! The Bursary Fund is designed to provide financial assistance to students and families to help cover tuition, materials, or other education related expenses. The River Road Bursary Fund is supported through: A portion of ticket sales from our Remedy Sessions and other ticketed events Donations from local businesses, charitable organisations, and families Government grants
The bursary can be applied as a reduction in tuition fees or used to cover specific costs such as instruments, art supplies, or participation in special programs. By offering this support, the Bursary Fund ensures that all people have access to high-quality music and arts education, fostering inclusivity and nurturing the next generation of artists and musicians. Coding and Robotics! Do you have a budding computer scientist in your home? Do they play Minecraft or Roblox and dream of designing and creating their own computer game one day? 8 Week Program, Saturday mornings 10:30am-11:30am Coding Club at our Tahmoor Studio! These weekly 60 min sessions are designed for kids to have fun and get creative while exploring the exciting world of creative coding and robotics. JOIN ANYTIME!! Reminder we have Pat as our own Registered Music Therapist! To attain this distinction, Pat successfully completed a Master of Music Therapy and fulfilled the registration requirements with the Australian Music Therapy Association. Music therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses music and musical elements to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. Music therapists are trained professionals who use their musical expertise to help people achieve specific therapeutic goals and enhance their overall well-being. Udio Account Student Details Over the last term we implemented a new student management platform Udio, which aims to streamline our operations, but also provide students and parents greater visibility and management of their lessons. For registered students, please ensure your student details are up to date including contact details, and student details.
